Services
Why your future is in safe hands
When we established Suffolk Will Services in 2019, it was because we wanted to do things a little differently. We wanted to provide a highly professional Will writing and estate planning service that really cares for our clients.
All of us have to make difficult decisions about our futures; who we want to care for us or our children, who we should or should not bequeath our money to, how to safeguard children in the event of a second marriage; the list of possible questions is endless.
And as Will Writers and Estate Planners, we’re no different to you. We also have to think through these really important choices.
The difference is, we understand the legal talk and industry jargon.
Having worked in Solicitors offices with private clients for over 20 years, we know how daunting and unnecessarily complicated the processes can be made; and they shouldn’t, and needn’t be difficult.
We take time to ensure our clients are completely satisfied. We believe all aspects of estate planning should be explained clearly, using jargon-free language, and any legal terms are fully clarified so our clients understand exactly what they need.
We also think honest pricing is essential. Our costs are transparent and in full, so our clients are not shocked by unexpected or hidden costs. You know exactly how much the services you choose will cost.
Helen is a member of the Society of Will Writers and more recently joined their Professionals Standard Board. This is a national board designed to advise, support and ensure high standards of conduct occur throughout the Will Writing and Estate Planning industry. We support the Society help oversee the client care aspect, with the ultimate aim of improving industry standards.
With Dan joining the business full time, Suffolk Will Services moved into their first office space. “We had previously set the business up at home, giving Helen more flexibility with the boys,” explains Dan. “With the majority of our clients preferring home face to face appointments than virtual appointments, we had no need for an office space initially.”
In September 2022 Helen’s original vision for the business was realised. With covid restrictions removed, and a growing customer based, mainly built on referrals from satisfied customers, Daniel joined the business. Daniel and Helen are childhood sweethearts, who have now been married for nearly 20 years. Both from Suffolk they love nothing more than being on the coast or in the countryside at the weekend with their two boys, and dogs.

Meet Dan
Dan has joined Suffolk Will Services as Practice Manager although he jokes his job title could be anything from Administrator, to IT support, to Marketing Executive!
“We had always intended for Suffolk Will Services to be a family business and are very proud to achieve that after a slight delay due to covid” says Dan.
Dan will be the first point of contact for clients ensuring that there is always someone to speak to in the office, and manage appointments and exchange of paperwork.
Whilst Helen will continue to visit clients in their home, as well as offering virtual appointments and office based appointments, Dan will be available meaning there is less need for answer phones or messaging services.
Starting in late 2019 turned out to be a mixed blessing. With the global pandemic starting just a few months later, Helen’s business plan of meeting clients in their home, where they would be relaxed and comfortable, had to be reviewed. It did however highlight to many the need to have a Lasting Power of Attorney alongside a Will in place should anything happen. With a few changes to the business approach, and like so many other businesses, a move to virtual meetings, Suffolk Will Services thrived.

'Recently my elderly mother in law needed a will written. After some research online I contacted Helen Algar at Suffolk Will Services. Helen is really nice, made mum feel at ease straightaway, and the whole service was totally professional. We’re happy to pass on our positive experience with Helen, and recommend Suffolk Will Services without hesitation. Hoping this will help anyone who might be needing a Will written and is putting it off (as we all do!)”
